The European Centre was founded in 1991. It is our company division for language training. The European Centre operates two main centres in the cities of Riyadh and Jubail. A substantial volume of our training activity is also conducted at client locations across a range of Saudi cities.
The European Centre is supervised by the Director General of Al Rajhi Co. for HRD and by academic British and American directors. The teaching team comprises native instructors who hold bachelor degrees from reputable universities and RSA/UCLES CELTA or Trinity Certificate qualifications. In addition some staff hold postgraduate qualifications: for example, some of our process change trainers in the industrial sector hold MBA qualifications while some our ESP trainers hold MSc degrees in related subjects (whether in Media, Applied Linguistics or in other core subjects). Some of our trainers also hold PGCE qualifications.
What we do
We train learners innovatively. We focus on learner performance gaps to determine what areas of training need to be covered. And we keep the learning focused on those training needs. We use innovative learning tools to achieve efficient and easy-to-measure learning outcomes for our customers.
Mission
To deliver training programmes, benchmarked testing services and personal skills training courses that serve:
(i) the specific language learning and vocational assessment needs of our corporate clients;
(ii) the language learning needs of community members of all ages from 7 years to adult;
(iii) the learning and development needs of our strategic partners in Saudi Arabia.
Our values
To treat learners as individuals;
To deploy learning-by-doing methods;
To maximize the employability of young Saudis, in support of Vision 2030;
To increase the in-school, in-life and on-the-job productivity of our learners;
To encourage an international outlook in Saudi learners.
Methodology
The European Centre vision works on cognition – production ‘orders’ of learning. Each course is composed of highly prescribed competencies, segmented into stand alone lessons. The vision is driven by a core ethos of ‘Learning by Doing’.
New knowledge is given to trainees in context. Trainees analyse and understand this information. Then they reproduce and reinforce the knowledge they gain by performing tasks in context. They learn by doing.
